Executive Search Consultant, In-House Legal at Greenfields Executive Search
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate Lawyer, to join a leading global financial services organisation and play a central role in supporting its corporate and commercial operations. Working closely with senior stakeholders, this role delivers clear, commercially grounded legal advice that informs strategic decision-making and strengthens commercial performance.
Role
Reporting to the General Manager Legal, Corporate & Commercial, this role provides high-quality legal advice across a broad portfolio of corporate and commercial matters and also supports broader capability development by mentoring less experienced legal team members.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide timely and practical legal advice on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, including non‑IT procurement and commercial contracts, outsourcing arrangements, anti‑trust, governance, sustainability, finance, investments, corporate HR and employment matters, and IT contracts where required.
* Assess and communicate legal risk, guiding decision‑making to achieve commercially aligned, risk‑appropriate outcomes.
* Advise internal stakeholders on regulatory issues relating to APRA, ASIC and other relevant entities, as applicable.
* Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assessing potential impacts and preparing the organisation for forthcoming changes.
* Provide legal insights on key and emerging issues, contributing to solution‑focused responses that minimise organisational risk.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends and regulatory developments, collaborating with peers to identify strategic implications and support coordinated organisational responses.
* Partner with business and functional colleagues to identify opportunities to strengthen corporate conduct, compliance and culture.
* Mentor and support Legal Counsel within the Corporate & Commercial team as required.
About You
* 6+ years' PQE in corporate law, with solid grounding in M&A and corporate governance from either private practice or a listed in‑house environment.
* Strong working knowledge of the Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rules.
* Ability to distil complex legal issues into clear, commercially pragmatic advice for senior executives.
* Collaborative approach with a knack for building trusted relationships across the business.
