We are seeking a Metal Fabricator with experience in the Power Generation industry to join our team in Pakenham. The role involves the fabrication, assembly and installation of acoustic generator enclosures and associated sub assemblies and components.
This position requires a skilled tradesperson who can interpret technical drawings and produce high-quality fabrication work in a dynamic workshop and project environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Fabricate, assemble and install the following from engineering drawings and specifications;
* Acoustic Generator Enclosures
* Mufflers & Exhaust Pipework
* Fuel Tanks (ranging from 1,000-110,000L)
* Acoustic Components (Attenuators, Doors etc.)
* Louvres
* Fuel Reticulation Components (Pump Skids, Fill & Polishing Cabinets)
* Cut, shape and weld mild and stainless steel using fabrication tools and equipment
* Perform MIG and TIG welding to required industry standards
* Perform welding to relevant WPS (including passing weld tests)
* Operate workshop machinery including guillotines, presses, rollers, grinders and gantry cranes
* Measure, mark out and prepare materials for fabrication
* Inspect completed work to ensure work meets quality and safety standards
* Work collaboratively with engineers, supervisors and other trades
* Maintain and promote a safe and organised workshop environment and culture
Skills and Experience
* Trade qualification in Engineering Fabrication, Metal Fabrication or Boilermaking
* Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Metal Fabricator
* Demonstrated experience fabricating, assembling and installing acoustic generator enclosures and associated sub assemblies and components
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Strong welding and fabrication skills
* Experience working with light and heavy gauge mild and stainless steel materials
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Ability to complete quality documentation through digital platform
* Construction White Card (or willingness to obtain)
