About Our Culinary Team:

Fronditha Care is an award-winning not-for-profit organisation providing culturally sensitive care for people of all backgrounds. We offer a wide range of services and programs to support elders and their families, with a focus on delivering a Bounty of Care that meets their cultural, spiritual, and health needs.

We have more than 1000 staff members caring for elders across our facilities in Melbourne and Newcastle, in their homes and in the community. As part of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals for our residents, helping to create a positive dining experience that meets both their health needs and cultural preferences.

* To succeed in this role, you should have knowledge of Greek cuisine and be able to plan, prepare, and cook meals that cater to the diverse tastes and dietary requirements of our residents.
* You will work closely with our kitchen team to ensure high standards of hygiene and compliance with food safety regulations are maintained at all times.
* This is a hands-on role that requires you to load and push food trolleys, load and unload dishwashers, load and unload food in and out of commercial ovens, transfer large cooking pots from oven to bench and sink, and maintain a tidy kitchen and dining area.
* You will also oversee documentation related to food safety, meals records, and stock levels, as well as participate in our continuous improvement processes to enhance service quality.

Physical Requirements: This role requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently push, pull, stretch, bend, reach, carry, and squat.

Requirements:

* A Food Handling Certificate is essential, but not limited to. Previous experience with food handling and cleaning is also required.
* You should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in the Aged Care Sector and proven skills around infection control and safe food handling.
* Proficiency in communication and teamwork is crucial for success in this role.
* Prior background in aged care or a related field is preferred, but not necessary.
* Negotiable shifts including weekends and afternoons are available.

OH&S Responsibility:

* To always observe and abide by all OH&S and WorkSafe regulations.
* To report any potential hazards or breaches to Direct Management immediately.
* To take any or all appropriate action that is safe to do so to remove or reduce hazards or risks.
* To report any observed breaches of OH&S policies and/or regulations by other staff members to Senior Management immediately.
