Make an impact at Serco
As a Physiotherapist within the Health Services team at Acacia Prison, you'll support rehabilitation and reintegration by improving mobility, reducing pain, and promoting functional independence. This is a casual role, Monday to Friday, 2 days per week (flexible days).
Responsibilities
* Conduct physiotherapy assessments, treatment planning and functional rehabilitation within a secure environment
* Maintain accurate clinical documentation, manage cases, and coordinate appropriate referrals
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, patient-centred care
* Communicate effectively with health staff, custodial teams, and external providers
* Contribute to team meetings, case reviews, and clinical handovers
* Share relevant information to support collaboration and continuity of care
To be successful in this role, you will have
* Current, unrestricted registration as a Physiotherapist with AHPRA
* Degree in Physiotherapy obtained from an Australian Physiotherapy Council accredited program
* Broad physiotherapy experience, including complex cases and clinical decision-making
* Experience managing referrals and coordinating ongoing patient care
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
* Cultural awareness and the ability to work with diverse populations
* Desirable: Experience in high-risk or secure environments (e.g. corrections, detention, secure mental health units)
