We are seeking a Portfolio Manager – Enterprise Systems and Publishing Operations to join our Sydney office on a permanent basis. This role is responsible for providing Senior management with high-level, portfolio-wide reporting on the status of all I.T. projects across Enterprise Systems and Publishing Operations.
The Portfolio Manager will deliver clear, timely and accurate insights on delivery health, risk and dependencies, enabling informed decision-making and proactive course correction. They will assess and report each project's adherence to the Project Management Framework, providing evidence-based validation of the status reported by project managers for key initiatives. This is not a delivery or programme management role. Delivery accountability remains with Project and Programme Managers. The Portfolio Reporting Manager provides independent assurance, governance and executive-ready reporting across the portfolio.
Key responsibilities
Maintain the consolidated portfolio view across all enterprise systems and publishing technology initiatives, including CAPEX-funded roadmap projects, global initiatives, OPEX-funded work, business-led projects, medium-to-large BAU initiatives, and projects in pre-approval.
Independently validate project statuses against the TDD Project Framework to ensure reporting accurately reflects project health.
Establish and manage a consistent reporting cadence, including RAG status, milestones, and critical dependencies.
Identify and escape portfolio-level risks and cross-project dependencies early.
Provide portfolio-level insight and support to senior leaders on project-related issues.Provide guidance to projects on good project management practices where required to ensure proper planning, a clearly defined scope and a realistic schedule.
Partner with Strategy and Portfolio teams to ensure projects are accurately represented.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders by translating complex project information into concise, actionable insights.
Who you are
At least 5 years experience in end-to-end delivery of I.T. projects in a large organisation which must include at least one large/complex project.
Proven experience in portfolio reporting, PMO, or portfolio management roles within large, complex organisations.
Demonstrated experience producing executive-level reporting and providing independent status validation.
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and quality-focused.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
Confident engaging senior stakeholders and influencing without formal authority.
Curious and improvement-focused, with a willingness to challenge and refine existing ways of working.
