Discover a Rewarding Outback Role: Remote Area Registered Nurse – Oodnadatta
An exciting opportunity exists to join our remote area nursing team in Oodnadatta. Enjoy the South Australian outback lifestyle in a close-knit community serving locals, surrounding cattle stations, and tourists travelling along the iconic Oodnadatta Track. Experience the famous Pink Roadhouse, stunning desert views, and the warmth of a historic town on the old Ghan railway line.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Remote Area Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive, culturally safe healthcare to the Oodnadatta community. You will manage the day-to-day operations of the local clinic and deliver emergency care after hours and on weekends as required.
Working as part of a small, dedicated team – including another Registered Nurse and an Aboriginal Health Worker – and in partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Dunjiba Council, and Oodnadatta Aboriginal School, you will play a vital role in supporting health outcomes and wellbeing across this unique and remote region.
If you're looking for a rewarding role that combines professional challenge, leadership, and community connection in one of South Australia's most iconic outback settings, we'd love to hear from you.
What We're Looking For:
Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding (or eligible to hold) a current practising certificate.
Minimum of 3 years (full-time equivalent) post-registration experience.
Demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing and/or midwifery practice in accordance with professional standards.
Experience in management and leadership roles.
Experience supervising students, Enrolled Nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers/Practitioners, and less experienced Registered Nurses and/or Midwives.
