Job Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team.
The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to construct, assemble, commission, and maintain novel laser isotope separation equipment and gas handling equipment at our site.
Key Responsibilities:
* Construct and assemble Laser Isotope Separation (LIS) and scientific process equipment as per design documentation
* Assemble gas handling systems (GHS) and associated equipment
* Perform manual fabrication tasks such as drilling, machining, and welding as required
* Aid in the commissioning of LIS & GHS equipment
* Participate in design reviews and plant planning sessions
* Aid in mechanical component design and documentation as required
* Maintain LIS equipment
* Maintain a safe and clean work environment
* Act as a proactive WHS member and adhere to company policies and procedures
* Provide general assistance to the Operations Manager and other team members as required
About You:
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
* Preferred qualification: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience
* Experience with stainless steel TIG welding and manual machining (lathe, milling etc)
* High purity systems, scientific, high vacuum, or semiconductor systems experience
* Ability to read and understand 2D drawings
* Attention to detail and fault finding skills with ability to provide innovative and practical solutions
* Ability to use Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, and Word
* Experience using 3D CAD software

Successful candidates must be Australian Citizens and eligible for an Australian National Security Clearance, which will be applied for by the company.
