Business Banking (BB) offers a wide range of services and solutions to our small to medium, enterprise, regional and agribusiness customers. Everyday Business Banking (EBB) is a centre of excellence for innovation, development and capability within the Group, delivering transformative technology and products that support our business customers.
Within Everyday Business Banking, the Payment Acceptance domain enables merchants to accept payments securely and reliably across digital channels. The eCommerce crew is responsible for the online payments experience, including checkout, payment processing, reporting, integrations, and the services behind the scenes that support these transactions.
This is a 12-months Maximum Term opportunity for an external candidate, or a 12-months secondment opportunity for an internal candidate.

This role will focus on existing capabilities, leading structured delivery across areas such as:
Merchant and customer migrationUplift of core transaction processing capabilitiesInfrastructure modernisation (e.g. AWS migration, PCI uplift, CI/CD improvements)Reporting enhancements and operational improvementsRisk and control environment strengthening
Depending on final squad alignment, you may work across customer-facing initiatives, core processing uplift, or infrastructure/platform initiatives — all within a highly regulated eCommerce payments environment.
This is a delivery-focused role, with strong emphasis on governance, risk, stakeholder alignment and safe execution rather than product strategy.
As a Product Manager in the Payment Acceptance domain, you will:
Lead delivery of migration, uplift or modernisation initiatives across eCommerce payment capabilitiesDefine scope, sequencing and prioritisation of work aligned to business and customer outcomesDrive risk identification and mitigation across regulatory, operational and customer-impact risksPrepare and manage governance artefacts including change papers, risk memos, impact assessments and control documentationWork across cross-functional squads including Technology, Risk, Operations and Customer teamsEnsure service continuity and operational stability during periods of changeSupport engagement with high-transacting or priority merchants where requiredMonitor post-implementation outcomes and drive continuous improvement
We’re Interested In Hearing From People Who Have
Experience leading complex change initiatives in payments, banking or regulated environmentsExposure to one or more of the following:Merchant or customer migrationCore transaction processing upliftCloud/infrastructure modernisation (e.g. AWS)PCI or regulatory compliance upliftCI/CD or platform engineering improvementsStrong risk and governance capability, including preparation of formal change artefactsExperience operating within agile or hybrid delivery environmentsStrong stakeholder management skills across Product, Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance and OperationsConfidence navigating ambiguity and driving delivery without heavy hand-holdingStrong written and verbal communication skillsRisk Mindset – All CommBank employees are expected to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks.
