This role is for supportive and resourceful Mental Health Support Workers, working part-time on a 24/7 rotating roster including sleepover shifts within the Haven residence. They play a key role in delivering person-centred, recovery-focused support that empowers clients to pursue their wellbeing goals, build life skills, and personal capacity. This fosters meaningful social connections, expands their support networks, and gains confidence needed to live independently.
Key responsibilities include:
* Working with clients to achieve their goals set out in their NDIS plan, returning to a place of residence, and living a meaningful life, supporting them through a staged approach.
* Delivering group work programs that assist clients to build their skills, focus on their recovery, and work towards transitioning back to their natural community.
* Supporting family and carer roles through understanding their concerns and providing information, education, and referrals.
* Making linkages and building relationships and referral pathways to maintain or create a range of local supports.
* Supporting residents with all aspects of maintaining their tenancy.
* Actively participating, contributing to the team, and wider organisational initiatives.
The successful applicant will have:
* Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate III) in mental health, peer work, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or other health-related fields.
* Certificate IV in mental health, peer work, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or other health-related fields is desirable.
* An understanding of the Community Services sector and ability to build strong relationships with service providers, clinical teams, and key stakeholders.
* Experience and expertise in working directly with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and with their families and carers.
* A current driver's license.
* Current First Aid and CPR certifications and ability to perform these duties as required as part of the role.
