Our Queensland Government client is seeking a Communication Officer to join their communications and stakeholder engagement team in Townsville. This is an initial contract until August ****, with potential for extension and is based in Townsville.
This role will support a diverse program of planning, pre-construction, and construction activities across the region. You'll work closely with internal teams to deliver clear communication materials, assist with community engagement, and maintain accurate project information. This is a great role for someone who enjoys varied tasks, has strong writing skills, and is confident engaging with stakeholders on low-risk matters.
Key Responsibilities
Support stakeholder engagement activities for low-risk projects.
Prepare written materials including correspondence, flyers, social media content, and webpage updates.
Develop and maintain project webpages, reports, and general updates.
Create and update internal webpages.
Assist with community-facing communication responses and general enquiries.
Manage correspondence tracking and maintain accurate records.
Source stakeholder contact details, property information and update internal systems.
Attend or support stakeholder meetings alongside engagement officers.
About You
Strong written communication skills with the ability to prepare clear and accurate materials.
Confident engaging with community members and stakeholders on straightforward issues.
Competent using digital tools, content management systems, and spreadsheets.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a busy team environment.
