The Division of Surgery at North Canberra Hospital provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient surgical services, including anaesthesia, pain management, operating theatres, day surgery, and specialist surgical wards. The Perioperative Suite includes a Day Surgery Unit, Surgical Admission Lounge, seven operating theatres, a procedure room, and a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, supporting a wide range of surgical specialties such as orthopaedics, obstetrics, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, general surgery, and more. Nurses work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering patient-centred, evidence-based care, supported by the Perioperative Education Team, Clinical Nurse Consultants, and nursing leadership. The Floor Coordinator, reporting to the Scrub/Scout Clinical Nurse Consultant, plays a key leadership role in managing daily patient flow and supporting perioperative staff across the suite.
