Job Summary
Join our team at the Diabetes and Endocrine Department at East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust – Ipswich Site.
We are appointing a full-time Consultant in Endocrinology & Diabetes with GIM (General Internal Medicine).
The appointee will support antenatal diabetes and diabetic foot services and may develop research interests.
Envisaged Job Plan
The job plan will consist of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs); details will be agreed with the successful candidate after appointment.
Key Responsibilities
Take part in Consultant on-call rota.
Provide specialist clinics and outpatient clinics.
Operate as required within the specialty.
Teach and train junior staff and undergraduates.
Provide care for inpatients and outpatients.
Participate in clinical governance and other admin duties.
Develop care pathways and clinical guidelines with multidisciplinary teams.
Offer support and leadership to junior medical colleagues and other team members.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
MRCP or equivalent.
Full registration with GMC, with specialist register or within 6 months of expected CCT.
Wide experience in acute general medicine and diabetes and endocrinology.
Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
Evidence of clinical audit.
Desirable
Training in appraisal techniques.
Postgraduate thesis.
DAFNE accreditation.

Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 a year (on experience).
