Carey Baptist College Forrestdale, a private coeducational Christian school with open enrollment, is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Head of Year and Health & Physical Education Teacher to join our vibrant and growing community.

About the role
Situated in the stunning natural bushland of our Forrestdale campus, Carey Baptist College offers an exceptional learning environment enriched by the recent opening of our state-of-the-art Sports Gymnasium and upgraded playing fields. This exciting time in our College's growth also includes the rollout of our Specialist Basketball and Specialist Volleyball programs, designed to inspire students to excel both on and off the court.
As Head of Year, you will lead the pastoral care, well-being, and development of a specific year group, supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth. This role involves mentoring students, working closely with parents and staff, and implementing programs that cultivate positive behavior, resilience, and a strong sense of community.
In your role as a Physical Education Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across our well-established Health and Physical Education programs, fostering a love for fitness, teamwork, and personal growth. You will also have the opportunity to engage with our renowned 'Go Outside, Grow Inside' Outdoor Education programs, which encourage students to connect with nature and develop leadership skills in the great outdoors.
Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, along with a genuine passion for helping students achieve their potential. Key responsibilities for this role include:
Leading and mentoring a specific year group, ensuring their holistic development and well-being.
Delivering high-quality Health & Physical Education lessons that inspire students to embrace active, healthy lifestyles.
Supporting the rollout of the College's Specialist Basketball and Volleyball programs.
Promoting participation in sports, extracurricular activities, and outdoor education initiatives.
Collaborating with colleagues to innovate and enhance Health, Outdoor and Physical Education and pastoral care programs.
