About the Role

The Transport Network Operations branch looks after Council’s roads and road related infrastructure and provides a diverse range of maintenance, construction and asset management services.

The role of Civil Field Worker you will be out in the field overseeing the various contractors delivering work on behalf of Council through onsite audits for safety, quality and environmental compliance. Reporting audits results and escalating issues back through the relevant inspector.

As a Civil Field Worker you will:

* Carry out general civil labouring tasks including concreting, kerb and channel work, drainage, road maintenance and debris removal.

* Competently interpret construction drawings to guide daily work activities

* Perform steel fixing and formwork as a regular part of your day‑to‑day duties

* Follow all workplace health, safety and environmental procedures and report hazards or incidents immediately.

* Operate and maintain Council machinery and equipment safely and correctly.

* Complete daily paperwork and work effectively as part of a high‑performing team.

About you

You enjoy hands‑on work, take pride in producing quality outcomes and can follow direction to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

You work well in a team, communicate clearly and bring a positive, reliable attitude to your work.

As a requirement of this role, you will possess a General Safety Induction (Construction Industry) White Card, and a Current “C” Class drivers licence.

Essential to your success is physical agility and the level of fitness, strength and dexterity to carry out labouring and frequent heavy lifting & bending. As such, appointment to this position is subject to completion of a pre-employment medical assessment.
