We're excited to announce that Hays Recruitment are partnering with a well-respected Governing Body in the hunt for an Assistant Director - National Capital Works to join their team!
Join a team within capital works projects that shape Australia's infrastructure! They're seeking an Assistant Director to help manage their National Capital Works program, overseeing diverse projects including office spaces, laboratories, quarantine facilities, air and seaports, and detector dog facilities.
Your new role
You will be responsible for:
- Project Management Excellence: Lead projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and stakeholder requirements.
- Strategic Program Oversight: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including funding bids, progress tracking, and financial reporting.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs, coordinate risk assessments, and ensure smooth project execution.
- Strategic Advisory: Provide insights to senior executives and stakeholders, guiding decision-making effectively.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement best practices to enhance business management processes.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and empower Property and Security Branch staff, fostering a culture of excellence.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful, you will require:
- Proficiency in managing capital works projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, understanding and meeting their needs.

- Understanding of relevant legislation, frameworks, and industry standards pertaining to capital works projects.

- Dedication to delivering high-quality outcomes and upholding standards of professionalism and integrity.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation such as the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.
- Construction Management Expertise: Understanding of construction projects and program management principles.
- Security Framework Familiarity: Knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework for effective implementation.
- Property Management Proficiency: Understanding of our governing body's Property Management Framework and industry standards
