We are looking for an Estimator who will be primarily responsible for providing accurate estimates and pricing for a variety of joinery and carpentry projects for tier 2 head contractors. Additionally, this role will involve assisting with Contract Administration work, easing the load on their civil engineer. This position requires someone with practical, hands-on knowledge and expertise in carpentry.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead estimating and pricing efforts for all joinery and carpentry projects
* Pricing/Estimating of new jobs being tendered
* Back Costing/Risk Assessment of running and upcoming projects
* Site visits
* Updates on variations/revision of prices on current and upcoming projects
* Documentation and reporting in relation to back costings
* Collaboration with engineers and architectsManaging internal documentation systems/processes
* Assist with Contract Administration tasks to ensure smooth project execution and documentation
Key Requirements
* Thorough knowledge of joinery and carpentry, with strong technical understanding of the trade
* Proven experience in Estimating in Carpentry and Joinery is essential (minimum 3 years)
* Self-aware and capable of taking responsibility for your work
* Hands-on background as a carpenter or joiner highly desirable
* Systematic approach to pricing and accuracy in detailed estimates
* Great communication skills
* Estimating software proficiency
