**THE BOWER**
The Bower is a purpose driven environmental charity that seeks to protect and enhance the natural environment and in doing so improve the welfare and wellbeing of disadvantaged families and members of society. We focus on preventing waste generation and diverting waste from landfill. The Bower raises awareness of the value of waste avoidance and reduction through resource recovery, repair, reuse, recycling and education.
Bower educational courses are delivered face to face and on-line to help inspire and teach community members the art of repair and upcycling.

**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The Workshop Manager will be responsible for managing and scheduling the Bower workshops across a range or courses including: woodworking, electronic repairs, bicycle maintenance, tiny house construction, upholstery, and clothing repairs. They will provide leadership to workshop facilitators and staff.
The Workshop Manager will: o Manage the workshop venues at Redfern and Summer Hill o Liaise with Councils to provide workshops and repair cafes o Liaise with the Media Officer for workshop bookings and inquiries o Liaise with external organisations (e.g. Colleges, contractors) o Support event organisation and the delivery of workshops and repair café's (on-line and face to face) o Manage the invoicing and flow of goods to be refurbished o Maintian a well planned schedule of workshops and repair cafes for The Bower, and Councils and Colleges o Manage in cooperation with The Bower Administrator the financial reports for the workshops o Be responsible for WH&S policies and procedures in workshops o Ensure that waste is disposed of in accordance with Bower procedures and policies o Ensure staff are supported in a safe, healthy, and positive environment.
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**
**Qualification - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or similar**
**Experience - **Minimum 3 years work experience in a similar role or other relevant experience
**Skills ** o Experience in practical skills such as DIY, or carpentry, or logistics o Computer literacy o Good communication skills both written and spoken o Ability to organise a diverse range of courses and facilitators o Project Management o Sound organisational skills and an ability to meet tight deadlines o Sound problem solving skills o Ability to work independently
**PERFORMANCE GOALS**
- Workshop and repair cafe schedules and courses are completed accurately and on time
- Events are supported and delivered on time with high satisfaction ratings received
- Invoicing, quotes and administrative tasks are completed on scheudle and accurately
- Develop further courses for The Bower's workshops and help develop further outlets for our courses
- Demonstrated high level of coordination and teamwork
