Bulk Materials Handling
An established OEM delivering bulk materials handling solutions to the mining and resources sector is seeking an experienced Controls and Automation Engineer to join its expanding automation team.
This is a diverse, hands-on role where you won't just design systems — you'll work closely with the equipment your control systems operate. You'll be involved across capital equipment projects and aftermarket upgrades, supporting clients both locally and internationally.
The Role
You will scope, design and deliver PLC-based control systems for new equipment and retrofit projects, while also supporting systems already deployed in the field.
Key Responsibilities Include
* PLC and HMI design and programming for materials handling equipment
* Ensuring compliance with Australian, international and client standards
* Providing technical support, troubleshooting and on-site commissioning
* Contributing to software standardisation and product development initiatives
* Delivering customer training on automation systems
* Participating in safety and risk workshops to implement technical risk mitigation
What We're Looking For
* Degree-qualified in Electrical, Mechatronics, Software Engineering or similar
* ~8+ years' experience in industrial controls / automation
* Strong PLC programming capability (ladder logic, FBD, structured text)
* Experience with Schneider, Allen Bradley and/or IFM platforms
* Exposure to Linux or embedded systems (C++, PHP) advantageous
* Strong client-facing communication skills
* Willingness to travel to site when required
