Port Augusta is a small city located on the east coast of the Spencer Gulf, approximately 322 kilometres north of Adelaide, with a population of around 15,000. Our location offers opportunities to explore the Spencer Gulf waters, from kayaking to catching kingfish, and enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the surrounding scenery. You can also discover the nearby Flinders Ranges before returning to the comforts of our regional city.RICE is a Not-for-Profit organisation committed to providing Educational, Health, Wellbeing, and Childcare services to geographically isolated families and children across South Australia. This role offers a chance to meet incredible families in Outback South Australia, travel in 4WD vehicles, and learn about what makes the Outback an extraordinary place for children.The Preschool Teacher will be responsible for the Preschool Program, delivered via Distance Education. This includes short online lessons each day, developing the full preschool program with resources, and distributing these resources to families regularly. The teacher will visit children and families in their homes once per term to observe, participate in preschool experiences, and support families in implementing preschool education. Termly face-to-face preschool experience weeks will be arranged for children and their families at the RICE office, which features indoor and outdoor spaces and a resource library.The preschool program is supported by our Wellbeing Officer and an Early Childhood Educator based at the Port Augusta RICE office.
