About the Opportunities
We are seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to support the restart and ongoing development of mining operations at Finniss. This position will support our open pit operations, with the opportunity to transition into underground mining as the operation evolves. This role is offered on a 5/2 roster and, depending on experience, may be structured as permanent positions if you transition to the underground team.
For candidates specifically interested in open pit only, 12-month maximum term opportunities are also available to support the initial restart phase of our open pit operations, with potential pathways into ongoing roles.
Reporting to the Mine Manager, this role will be responsible for developing and maintaining mine plans that support safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. You will contribute across both open pit mining at Grants and the transition to the BP33 underground development, working closely with site leadership and mining contractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain short- to medium-term mine plans and schedules
* Support production planning, drill and blast coordination, and operational execution
* Provide planning support across open pit operations and future underground development
* Monitor and reconcile production performance against plan
* Collaborate with geology, geotechnical, and survey teams to optimise outcomes
* Work closely with mining contractors to ensure plans are practical and achievable
* Contribute to continuous improvement in planning processes and site performance
About You
You are a motivated mining engineer looking to contribute to a restart operation with long-term underground potential.
You will bring:
* Degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline
* Experience in mine planning within an open pit mining environment
* Exposure to underground mining methods (highly regarded)
* Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g. Deswik, Surpac, or similar)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with site teams and contractors
* Commitment to safety and operational excellence
* Valid Australian driver's licence
About Core Lithium
Core Lithium is an ASX-listed resources company focused on the restart of the Finniss Operation near Darwin in the Northern Territory. With open pit mining at the Grants deposit targeted to recommence in May 2026, feeding the site's existing lithium processing plant, and underground development at BP33 planned later in the year, the operation is entering an important new phase of production.
