Our leading Federal Government client are hiring for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join the organisation. The Infrastructure Engineer will manage and maintain ICT platforms operating on RHEL Standard Operating Environment (SOE) Ecosystem, including all technical landscape design, installation, configuration, deployment, technical security and operation of ICT components and databases.
This role has a preference for candidates based in Canberra, however candidates in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney can be considered. This role requires a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) status to start.
Start Day
1st of July, 2026 - 12 Month Initial Contract
Daily Rate
$950 - $1,100 + Super per day.
Location
Canberra (2601) is the preferred location. Candidates from Brisbane (4000), Melbourne (3000), Sydney (2000) or Adelaide (5000) will also be considered.The role is 3 days per week in office/WFH Hybrid.
Key Accountabilities
* Manage the automation, implementation and maintenance of Midrange Unix Infrastructure
* Modernise the current IBM Power Private Cloud environment
* Migrate the Network File System (NFS) from Solaris and retire Hitachi Network Attached Storage (HNAS)
* Patch Solaris environments including upgrading SOE versions
Essential Criteria - Technical Skills
* Unix System Administration for Solaris
* Ansible Automation Platform
* Red Hat OpenStack/OpenShift
* IBM Power
* Networking (configuration, operation and troubleshooting)
* Scripting
* IBM Advanced Interactive eXecutive (AIX)
Candidates are required to be based in the above listed Capital Cities and need to be in office a minimum of 3 days per week. Additionally, you must possess Australian Citizenship and be in possession of an NV1 Security Clearance, or have the ability to obtain this clearance.
