About the Company
Our Client are a global leader and highly successful developer / operator of renewable energy assets in Australia
Position Summary
This role oversees cost control and financial planning for a major Solar Farm construction project, ensuring efficient execution of day-to-day cost controls.
The role will be based in the Brisbane office before transitioning to site early next year.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and manage approved budgets, set budget goals, and monitor performance against budget.
* Develop the project cost baseline in line with internal requirements.
* Maintain ongoing project cost reporting.
* Collaborate with Project Director, Project Manager, Contracts Manager, and Finance department for cost monitoring and cashflow forecasting.
* Build relationships across the project for effective cost tracking.
* Estimate potential additional works using first principles.
* Prepare budget change requests for any changes to project scope outside of original parameters.
* Provide detailed cost control reporting, including monthly reports and analysis of deviations.
Key Result Areas
* Develop, implement, and maintain up-to-date cost management.
* Ensure accuracy in all reporting and project controls.
* Foster cooperative relationships with internal stakeholders in Australia and Spain.
Experience / Qualifications
* Degree in Engineering and / or Accounting / Business preferred.
* 8+ years of experience in finance and cost control for large-scale construction projects, preferably in the solar sector.
* Competence in financial auditing, production control, and financial tracking of construction projects.
* On-site construction / engineering project experience.
* Exposure to Joint Venture projects advantageous.
* Advanced knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
* Current driver's license.
* Fluent in English.
* Flexibility to travel as required.
