About the Role
As a Registered Scrub Scout Nurse, you will play a key role in providing expert perioperative care to patients undergoing a wide range of elective orthopaedic procedures. You will work alongside a dedicated team of surgeons, anaesthetists, and fellow theatre staff, contributing to outstanding patient experiences and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Scrub and scout for a variety of complex elective orthopaedic cases.
* Ensure safe and effective preparation and handling of instruments, equipment, and supplies.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support seamless surgical workflows.
* Maintain the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the theatre department.
Minimum Criteria:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (or eligibility to obtain).
* Minimum of 3 years' recent orthopaedic scrub/scout experience, including:
* Skilled in major joint arthroplasty, including hips, knees, and shoulders.
* Experience with Foot & Ankle, ACL reconstructions, fracture ORIFs, and arthroscopy.
* Robotic joint replacement experience (desirable), with systems such as Stryker Mako and Zimmer Rosa highly regarded.
* Strong knowledge of perioperative best practice and patient safety principles.
* Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
