About Our Client: Peter Ellsmore & Associates is a highly respected engineering and drafting consultancy based in Wollongong. The company provides exceptional services to a diverse range of clients across the industrial, mining, and construction sectors throughout the Illawarra region and beyond. Some exciting opportunities have arisen for Senior Mechanical‐Structural Drafters to join their talented team, supporting both capital projects and ongoing plant operations while contributing to practical, innovative solutions for their clients.
As a Senior Mechanical-Structural Drafter, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering and drafting services.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Preparing detailed drawings and contributing to the design of: General heavy industrial equipment, Steel processing lines, Mechanical and materials handling equipment, including conveyors, hoppers, chutes, and material transfer systems, Structural steel, Plant layouts
* Providing design expertise associated with steel production, iron ore, coal, or related industries.
* Collaborating with clients and team members to deliver innovative and practical solutions.
What We're Looking For:
* Extensive drafting experience (10+ years), ideally with experience in leading and supervising a team of drafters.
* Proficiency in Inventor 3D modelling and production of drawings, ideally including Vault.
* High-level AutoCAD capability
* In-depth knowledge of mechanical and structural equipment in a heavy industrial environment.
* Familiarity with Australian Standards
* Ability to work effectively under the direction and supervision of an engineer
* Relevant technical qualifications
* Excellent communication skills is a must!
Additional Considerations:
* Degree‐qualified engineers with practical drafting experience are also encouraged to apply
* Candidates using other 2D/3D drafting software are welcome / training in Inventor and AutoCAD can be provided
