Mid-Senior Research Technician - Food Analysis
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to world-leading research on Food and Beverage Technology, supporting the development of premium foods and beverages.
* The position involves providing technical expertise in compositional analysis of food products and working collaboratively to support strategic and applied research projects within the Trailblazer funded FaBA research program.
Key responsibilities include coordinating and performing technical aspects of food compositional analysis, assisting in the design of research studies, and developing methods to evaluate grain compositional factors that affect processing, end-use, nutritional quality of oats for various oat-based products.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to work collaboratively and independently on routine laboratory tasks.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will have experience with laboratory techniques such as dough rheology, grain quality-related laboratory protocols, and the ability to instruct others on the application of specialist research skills.
This role requires a high level of self-motivation, well-organised, methodical approach to work, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Salary Package
This role offers a salary in the range of $80,523.29 - $89,505.38 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5), plus benefits including up to 26 weeks paid parental leave or 14 weeks paid primary caregiver leave, 17% superannuation contributions, and access to flexible working arrangements.

About You
We are looking for an experienced and skilled individual who is passionate about food science and technology, with a strong background in cereal chemistry or equivalent.
* Completion of a degree-level qualification in Science, Food Science and Technology, Cereal Chemistry, or equivalent; or completion of a Diploma with relevant work experience.
* Demonstrated experience in addressing quality of cereals, preferable related to the grain composition, physico-chemical properties for end-use food products.
