Ocius Technology is an Australian company dedicated to developing and deploying cutting edge Uncrewed Surface Vehicles (USVs). Our vessel's harness Wind, Solar and Wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for Defence and Civilian applications.
We are under contracts with RAN, RNZN and USA and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations around Australia and beyond.
About the Role
Our Senior Electronics Engineer will be driving the development of all electronic systems and controls onboard our Bluebottle platform. The role will be instrumental in ensuring continuous improvement and development of existing systems and driving R&D of new features and products.
The Engineering function is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the design of Ocius assets, particularly the Bluebottle platform, while actively responding to operational and production requirements to ensure continuous improvement.
Typical Day / Responsibilities
* Uplifting our Electrical Engineering capability
* Partnering with the production teams to ensure electronics designs are scalable
* Scaling Electrical Engineering QA processes
* Mentoring our Electrical Engineering team
Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience in electronic hardware design, with a portfolio of complex product development.
* Strong proficiency in CAD/ECAD tools such as KiCAD, Altium, or equivalent.
* Demonstrated experience taking hardware products to market, including production runs of 100+ units.
* Strong knowledge of DFM, DFA, and DFS principles and how to apply them in production environments.
* Proven ability to uplift technical documentation, including technical drawings, schematics, configuration artefacts, and engineering records.
* Experience improving or establishing engineering processes, including drawing standards, version control, and design governance.
Due to the nature of our business, we require Australian Citizenship for all roles and the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance and be compliant with ITAR regulations.
