Primary objective

Assist in the development and coordination of cyber security compliance management programs, services, projects and reporting to

support the Cyber Resilience unit and client agencies across cyber governance, risk and compliance activities.

Context statement

Cyber Resilience manage cyber security strategic policy and projects and intergovernmental relations; cyber security exercises and incident

consequence management coordination; cyber security awareness and training; and cyber governance risk and compliance.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Contribute to security clearance administration and governance, including maintaining administrative systems and standard operating

processes and procedural guidance, managing confidential employee information, registers and billing records; and reporting and

assurance activities to support regulatory and policy compliance.

1. Process AusCheck and administer other security clearance screening in accordance with standard operating procedures and work with

senior cyber security risk analysts to manage security risk assessments and reporting to governance committees.

1. Provide front-facing advice and support to client agencies and individuals in the administration of security clearances and related

policies and systems and stay abreast of regulatory changes to ensure provision of quality and contemporary advice.

1. Prepare or contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, agendas and meeting papers for various forums and research and

write technical or policy cyber security plans and documents.

1. Work with managers and colleagues to scope, plan and deliver cyber resilience projects as a project team member or for smaller

projects, as the project officer, including delivering security and compliance plans, policy guidance, documentation and other activities.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated experience in working effectively as part of a team and independently, including high level personal organisational skills

and initiative, and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and competing deadlines.

2. Highly developed interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills for effective and professional communication; and

demonstrated competence in preparing and maintaining a range of documentation such as policy, guidelines, standard operating

processes, executive reports, governance papers and memorandum with high attention to detail.

1. Ability to analyse and interpret policy and regulations and demonstrate confidence in providing clear advice to clients and colleagues.
2. Knowledge of governance, risk management, audit, and project management processes and tools or ability to quickly acquire.
3. Proven ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion and to exercise sound judgment in dealing with complex and

sensitive matters.

1. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practise,

accountability, impartiality, diverse and respect.

Desirable

1. Knowledge or experience of cyber security and security vetting and related Australian Government policies and regulations.

2. Formal Qualification (or working towards) in Government Security Vetting, ICT, Cyber Security, Business Administration, Project

Management or other qualification or equivalent.

Further information
