What You'll Be Working On
You'll lead the design and implementation of sophisticated geospatial solutions that connect legacy utility systems with modern cloud-based platforms. Your work will span from complex data transformations to user-facing applications that provide critical operational insights.
Your Key Responsibilities Include
Developing and maintaining custom GIS applications using the complete ArcGIS platform (Pro, Enterprise, Geodatabase)
Designing and executing complex spatial ETL workflows using FME Desktop and Server
Integrating GIS solutions with enterprise systems including Hexagon GIS and SAP environments
Configuring and deploying ArcGIS electric network models with migration planning for Utility Network Model (UNM)
Building automated data transformation pipelines between disparate geospatial platforms
Developing view applications and web maps for operational teams and third-party integrations
Working with spatial databases including PostgreSQL/PostGIS, SQL Server, and Oracle
Collaborating with engineering teams, IT departments, and operational staff across multiple disciplines
Documenting processes, providing technical support, and contributing to solution architecture
Supporting cloud-based GIS deployments and system performance optimisation
You'll work with diverse stakeholders from field engineers to executive management, ensuring technical solutions meet both operational needs and strategic business objectives.
What Type of Person Will Succeed
We're looking for a versatile GIS developer who combines deep technical expertise with the flexibility to work across multiple platforms and the ability to solve complex spatial data challenges. You should be someone who thrives in dynamic project environments and takes pride in building systems that serve critical infrastructure.
You'll Excel In This Role If You Have
5+ years of proven development experience with ArcGIS technologies (ArcPy, ModelBuilder, Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder)
Advanced proficiency in FME for spatial data transformation and automation workflows
Solid understanding of geospatial data models, topology, coordinate systems, and network analysis
Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, or similar languages
Experience with spatial databases and enterprise geodatabase management
Ability to work flexibly across development and administration roles as project needs evolve
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex spatial data issues
Bonus Points If You Have Experience With
Hexagon GIS platforms (GeoMedia, G/Technology) and migration projects
Esri's Utility Network Model (UNM) implementation in utility environments
Electricity utility sector experience including asset management and network modelling
Cloud-based GIS deployments (Azure, AWS) and ArcGIS Online configuration
SAP integration projects and enterprise system connectivity
