About the Role
Mackay Mental Health Services is seeking Clinical Nurses (Grade 6) for the Acute Care Team (ACT). This is a frontline mental health triage and crisis service providing 24/7 assessment, intervention, and referral support across the Mackay region.
Requirements
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
* Mental health case management and triage experience
* Experience in acute or crisis mental health settings
* Competency in ECG interpretation and completion
* Ability to administer intramuscular injections
* Strong clinical assessment, de-escalation, and communication skills
Desirable Experience
* Knowledge of CIMHA database
* Experience with ieMR system
* Previous experience within QLD Health / Mackay HHS
* Understanding of Mental Health Act 2016

Duration: Approx. 12 weeks
Additional Details
* Monday to Friday roster (rotating AM/PM shifts)
* Up to 80 hours per fortnight
* Overtime applicable after 80 hours p.f.
* Additional shifts may be required based on operational demand

The Acute Care Team is the first point of contact for public mental health services, providing 24/7 triage, crisis assessment, and referral to community mental health, alcohol and drug services, and primary care.
