Project Supervisor / Junior Project Manager | 6-Month Client Side Contract
The Opportunity
Joining a dedicated Civil Projects team, you will step into a key role focused on the delivery and maintenance of State, Regional, and Local road networks. While the internal title is Project Officer, this role functions as a Project Supervisor or Junior Project Manager, acting as the Council's representative on-site.
* Contract Duration: 6-month initial engagement (covering extended leave) until September 2026.
* Location: Newcastle / Hunter Reigon
* Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
* Rate: Up to $50 per hour.

The Role
Working closely with senior Project Managers, you will be the "eyes and ears" on-site to ensure civil contractors are delivering work safely, on time, and to specification.
* Contractor Management: Oversee and coordinate civil contractors specifically in road and drainage construction.
* Technical Oversight: Read and interpret engineering drawings, reports, and technical specifications.
* Project Coordination: Assist in the delivery of Capital Works and maintenance activities while managing quality assurance.
* Safety & Risk: Implement site-based risk management and ensure all activities align with a safety-focused culture.
About You
This role is ideal for someone currently working for a Civil Head Contractor who is keen to gain client-side experience, or an aspiring PM looking to sharpen their project delivery skills.
* Experience: Proven background managing civil contractors or significant site exposure within roads and drainage.
* Technical Skills: Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and engineering documentation.
* Communication: Ability to negotiate and resolve operational problems independently on-site.
* Compliance: Must hold a Class C Driver's Licence and a White Card (WorkCover General Construction Induction).
