The Clinical Haematology Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital is recruiting for 2026.
The Haematology Department provides comprehensive care to Tasmanian patients with benign and malignant blood disorders. The culture of the unit is highly supportive and focussed on excellent patient care.
The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is the largest hospital in Tasmania with approximately 500 beds. It is the state-wide referral centre for numerous tertiary services for Tasmania and an accredited Level 3 teaching hospital, as well as the community hospital for the Greater Hobart region.
The RHH is located in the beautiful waterfront city of Hobart, framed between the Derwent River and Kunanyi / Mt Wellington and offers access to fine dining, impressive arts and a wide choice of accommodation within a short commute. The city also provides a great starting point to explore Tasmania's pristine wilderness and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities.
Salary
$134,930 - $189,005 per annum
Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022

Period of Employment
Fixed term, full time day work, working 76 hours per fortnight plus10 hours protected training time (pro rata), commencing 2 February 2026 until 1 February 2027.
Note: 24-month appointment negotiable.

Duties
The Registrar is responsible for the day-to-day management of public inpatients and outpatients within the Hospital and provides on call cover for the unit as well as infrequent after-hours emergency cover at the hospital.
Essential Requirements
* General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
