About the Operations Manager Role
In this leadership position, you will oversee the coordination and performance of traffic management, labour and construction services operations across New South Wales. You'll ensure that teams are resourced effectively, compliance requirements are met, and clients receive exceptional service every time. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working autonomously, thrives on structure and accountability, and can confidently manage multiple moving parts in a high‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage day-to-day operations across traffic and construction services lines, ensuring efficient workflows and seamless collaboration.
* Oversee workforce deployment through traffic management operational systems software, maintaining visibility of resource allocation and project requirements.
* Serve as the primary liaison between clients, site teams, and internal departments, ensuring communication is clear and outcomes are achieved.
* Drive compliance and safety excellence, including documentation, permit management, SWMS, TMPs, and incident reporting.
* Support investigations and corrective actions, maintaining accurate records within digital systems such as SharePoint, Excel, and builder portals.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to growth through business development activities, outstanding service delivery and commercial awareness.
About You
You're a capable, hands‑on leader who thrives on organisation, accountability, and problem‑solving. You bring proven experience in traffic management, construction labour operations or general construction and have an in-depth understanding of compliance frameworks and site coordination. You're equally confident working on strategic objectives or rolling up your sleeves to ensure operations run smoothly.
You'll also bring:
* Demonstrated experience leading operational teams within traffic management, labour hire, or construction environments.
* Strong working knowledge of SWMS, TMPs/TGS's, and relevant legislative requirements.
* Familiarity with traffic management/allocation software, Excel, SharePoint, and builder portals for planning and reporting.
* Excellent communication and relationship management skills with a natural ability to build rapport and drive results.
