About the role
We are seeking compassionate, experienced, and proactive Support Workers to join our SIL team in Caloundra area QLD. In this role, you'll work directly with participants, particularly individuals living with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Dementia, Down Syndrome as well as other intellectual and physical disabilities supporting them to live independently while enhancing their quality of life. What you'll be doing
* Deliver high-quality care tailored to participants in a professional manner
* Implement behaviour support strategies and assist participants to achieve personal goals
* Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and support coordinators
* Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and participant progress notes
* Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
* Providing social and emotional support to clients, engaging them in meaningful activities and outings
* Advocating for client needs and communicating effectively with relevant healthcare professionals
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to client care
* Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
What we're looking for
We are looking for Support Workers who are passionate about making a difference and have experience working with participants with complex needs.
* Previous experience in aged care, disability support, or a similar community service role
* Experience in or ability to learn to support Acquired Brain Injury and Dementia related disabilities
* A genuine passion for supporting and empowering vulnerable individuals
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* A current First Aid and CPR certificate and a valid driver's licence
* The ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays, as required
Essential
* Available for a minimum of 3 shifts per week.
* Certificate III/IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services
* Current First Aid & CPR
* Current Blue Card & NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
* Ability to work with participants presenting challenging behaviours
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Commitment to dignity, respect, and independence
Desirable:
* Experience working with ABI and/or Dementia
* Knowledge of SIL environments and NDIS frameworks
* Knowledge of working with Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Plans
* Mental health, trauma-informed care, or dual-diagnosis experience
