The Role: Human Patient Simulation Officer
Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and organized individual to support the Schools in the Health Group to implement human patient simulation for learning and assessment activities.
As the Human Patient Simulation Officer, you will be responsible for recruiting and maintaining a pool of appropriate actors, providing them with training and support, and working with academic and professional staff across the Group.
Main Responsibilities:
* Cast/identify human simulated patients appropriate to academic scenarios as required for learning and assessment activities.
* Orientate and train human simulated patients ensuring that they meet relevant standards and requirements.
* Maintain an accurate and up-to-date database of human patient simulated patients, their characteristics, and skills.
* Maintain positive and collaborative working relationships, and communicate effectively with key academic and professional staff, including Program Directors, Course Convenors, facilitators, School Managers, and other professional staff members.
* Support a team of sessional staff (expert human simulation patients) who provide quality human patient simulation across the Group.
* Work with the Human Patient Simulation Coordinator to develop, implement, monitor, and maintain systems, processes, and procedures unique to the Human Patient Simulation program.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills, knowledge, and a minimum of 3 years professional experience within the last 5 years.
* A strong understanding of human patient simulation principles and practices.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
