We are an Australian group of medical practices operating multiple surgery locations. The group is responsible for the strategic planning and delivery of shared ICT infrastructure and systems that support secure, reliable, and compliant healthcare operations across its network.
We are seeking an experienced ICT Project Manager to lead the planning and delivery of group‑wide ICT infrastructure and systems projects across our medical surgery network. Reporting to the Head of ICT, this role operates at a project governance and delivery level, coordinating internal resources and external vendors to ensure ICT projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with healthcare compliance and security requirements.
This position is focused on ICT project management and does not involve routine IT support or system administration.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and manage ICT infrastructure and systems projects across a network of medical surgery locations.
* Lead group‑wide ICT initiatives such as network upgrades, cloud and server migrations, system integrations, and technology standardisation programs.
* Consult with practice managers, clinicians, and external stakeholders to define project scope, technical requirements, timelines, and budgets.
* Coordinate internal ICT resources and external vendors to ensure successful delivery of ICT projects with minimal disruption to clinical services.
* Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
* Monitor project progress and manage risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure ICT projects comply with healthcare data security requirements, privacy obligations, and organisational governance frameworks.
* Provide regular reporting on project status, risks, and outcomes to senior management.
* Manage formal project handover to operational teams and conduct post‑implementation reviews.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience managing ICT projects across multi‑site or enterprise environments.
* Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems at a project management level.
* Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, budgets, and competing priorities.
* Excellent communication skills, with experience engaging clinical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Experience working in regulated or compliance‑driven environments is highly regarded.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum 2 years of relevant ICT project management experience.
* Demonstrated experience in ICT project management in complex or multi‑site environments, typically supported by a relevant tertiary qualification and equivalent professional experience.
* Project management certification is highly desirable.
Reporting & Authority
* Reports directly to the Head of ICT (Group).
* Provides functional leadership to internal ICT resources and external vendors involved in project delivery.
* Retains project oversight and governance responsibility at all times, including when delivering services to related or third‑party organisations.
