Your new role
An opportunity has arisen for an Associate / Vice President to join the Capital Markets Loan Execution team based in Sydney. This role sits within a high-performing front‐office environment and plays a critical role in the execution of complex financing transactions across Australia, New Zealand and the broader Oceania region. You will be responsible for supporting and leading the end‐to‐end execution of underwritten and syndicated loan transactions, including leveraged and acquisition finance deals.
Key responsibilities include:
* Driving transaction execution across structured and syndicated loan deals, ensuring timely delivery
* Structuring, reviewing and negotiating term sheets, mandate letters and full loan documentation from a commercial perspective
* Acting as a central point of coordination across internal and external stakeholders, including relationship managers, credit, agency, product teams and external counsel
* Managing the full documentation life cycle, consolidating feedback and progressing negotiations efficiently
* Providing commercial risk assessment and transaction guidance throughout the deal process
* Supporting client engagement and maintaining strong working relationships across counterparties
* Collaborating with regional teams across Asia‐Pacific to deliver cross‐border transactions
* Ensuring all transactions meet internal risk, compliance and regulatory requirements
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualified lawyer with approximately 4‐6 years' post‐qualification experience
* Strong background in banking & finance, with exposure to leveraged finance and/or syndicated lending
* Experience gained in a top‐tier law firm or financial institution, working on complex capital markets or loan transactions
* Demonstrated experience supporting large‐scale international financings (e.g. leveraged, acquisition or project finance deals)
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate and manage transaction processes end‐to‐end
* Proven ability to manage competing inputs and consolidate feedback from multiple stakeholders
* Highly organised, detail‐oriented and able to operate effectively under pressure
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work autonomously
* A proactive, delivery‐focused mindset with sound judgment and problem‐solving capability
