With a strong pipeline of commercial and infrastructure projects, they are expanding their commercial team and seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead operations, drive business growth, and mentor a high-performing team.
Your new roleAs a Senior QS, you will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of project delivery, from cost estimation and contract negotiation to financial reporting and team leadership. You'll play a key role in shaping commercial strategy, improving operational efficiency, and building client relationships across both regions.
Key responsibilitiesLead and mentor the commercial team, setting KPIs and supporting development.Manage tenders, bids, and client engagement activities across Australia and New Zealand.Oversee cost planning, progress claims, variations, and final accounts.Ensure accurate financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.Drive continuous improvement in commercial systems and processes.Collaborate with construction, QA, and delivery teams to ensure seamless operations.Mitigate commercial risks through effective contract management and negotiation.Maintain structured reporting and detailed records for senior leadership.
What you'll need to succeedBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.Proven experience in a Senior QS role, ideally within fire protection or construction.Strong leadership and team management capabilities.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.Commercial acumen with hands-on contract negotiation experience.Proficiency in QS software and project management tools.Willingness to travel between Australia and New Zealand occasionally.
