Lead complex people matters and influence outcomes as a highly experienced ASO6 HR Consultant
About the Role
In this senior role, you will act as a trusted advisor to leaders across the Department, providing expert HR consultancy on complex and sensitive workforce matters. You will lead investigations, manage significant HR projects, and contribute to the development and implementation of policies, frameworks, and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Provide expert HR consultancy across the Department, ensuring best practice, legislative compliance, and high-quality outcomes.
Lead investigations into complex HR matters, including grievances, internal and external reviews, and classification assessments, delivering well-researched reports and recommendations.
Manage HR projects, including restructures, change management initiatives, and policy implementation.
Support high-level recruitment and selection processes, particularly for senior management and executive roles.
Develop, review, and implement HR policies, procedures, and frameworks to support continuous improvement.
Mentor and support HR team members, fostering capability, collaboration, and a high-performing culture.
Represent DCS in government working groups, tribunals, and cross-agency forums as required.
About You
You will bring:
Extensive experience in HR advisory roles, including interpretation and application of legislation, policies, and industrial instruments.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage complex and sensitive matters.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build credibility and trust with senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated project management experience, including leading HR initiatives and change activities.
Sound judgement, discretion, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.

Special Conditions
Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and
other applicable industrial entitlements.
The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.
A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential.
A flexible approach to working hours is required.
Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or a related discipline
