We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate professional to join our team as a Community Development Officer. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in supporting older people, individuals with disabilities, and unpaid carers to optimize their wellbeing through the development and delivery of information, programs, and events that promote their engagement, participation, and connection with the community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Developing, delivering, and evaluating innovative social connection activities.
* Building social connectedness of older people, individuals with disabilities, and unpaid carers.
* Identifying and responding to community needs.
* Referring people to relevant Council and community services and activities as required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Community Development: Develop and deliver information, programs, and events that promote social connection and engagement among older people, individuals with disabilities, and unpaid carers.
* Relationship Building: Build and maintain positive relationships with staff, community members, and service agencies to ensure effective referral and support processes.
* Needs Assessment: Identify and respond to community needs, including developing and implementing initiatives that address these needs.
* Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals and objectives.

To be considered for this role, you must have:
* A tertiary qualification in community development, social work, health sciences, or a related field.
* Demonstrated skills and experience in community development work, preferably within a local government context.
* An understanding of Council's role in providing services for people experiencing isolation and/or vulnerability.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* The ability to build positive relationships with staff, community members, and service agencies.
