Job Description
House Operations & Maintenance
* Visit each SIL house at least once per week (minimum 3 hours per visit).
* Oversee house maintenance and setup to ensure homes remain safe, functional, and comfortable.
* Complete the House Visit Checklist (Form 2047) during each visit.
* Monitor equipment and appliances and organise servicing or repairs when required.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Promote and monitor Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) standards across SIL houses.
* Conduct regular safety inspections, including fire safety checks and evacuation drills.
* Ensure compliance with PPE requirements, infection control protocols, and WHS procedures.
* Encourage environmentally responsible practices, including waste reduction and energy efficiency.
Household Management & Supplies
* Coordinate grocery orders aligned with participant menu plans using Precoro.
* Manage weekly SIL stock orders and maintain supply tracking.
* Monitor waste management and ensure bins are placed out according to collection schedules.
* Ensure support workers follow uniform and dress code requirements, including covered shoes.
Participant Support
* Support the delivery of person-centred services that promote dignity, independence, and choice.
* Report participant care concerns to the Care Coordinator.
* Assist with participant activities and engagement in collaboration with the Care Coordinator.
* Conduct fortnightly participant meetings to gather feedback, preferences, and improve service delivery.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role
* Tertiary qualification in Disability, Community Services, or related field, or relevant experience in a similar sector
* Knowledge of NDIS regulations, compliance, and quality assurance standards
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor and support teams
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to manage crisis situations professionally and efficiently
* Strong documentation, reporting, and record-keeping skills
* Willingness to travel within NT and Queensland and provide flexible operational support
* NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)
* Working With Children Check (OCHRE Card)
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent organisational and time management abilities
* Experience in staff supervision and team management
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
* Strong interpersonal, networking, and stakeholder relationship skills
* Skills in mediation, negotiation, collaboration, and consultation
* Experience applying EEO, WHS, and Risk Management policies and practices
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and industry best practices
* Working knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and compliance requirements
