Our company prides itself on being locally owned and operated for 60 years.
In that time, Coffs Harbour Blinds and Awnings has established itself as one of the area's most respected and reliable manufacturers with a reputation for quality and excellence second-to-none.
The business was established in 1964 by Bill & Joyce Jeff with a staff of three, supplying venetian blinds, window awnings & screen doors. Now, 60 years later Coffs Harbour Blinds & Awnings has grown to a staff in excess of 50 and we manufacture and distribute a wide range of quality window coverings and home improvement products.
The majority of our products are manufactured from our factory at 2 Hi-Tech Drive, Toormina. Our Luxaflex Window Fashions Gallery is also at this address and offers the most exciting display of Window Fashions products on the North Coast.
The Roles
We currently have a few new opportunities for Window Furnishings Installers & Factory Production Workers to join our business located in the beautiful Coffs Harbour on the Mid North Coast NSW.
The roles on offer, reporting to the Factory Manager, will be permanent Full-Time, 38-hour work weeks, with early knockoffs on Friday.
As one of our Installation Technicians, you will be installing our window furnishings products (both indoor & outdoor). As one of our Factory Production Workers, you will be assisting with the Manufacturing of our window furnishings products.
Key Responsibilities - Installers:
* Provide friendly & efficient service to all customers.
* Attending job sites to install our window furnishing products.
* Liaising with clients regarding appointment times and order details.
* Attend Service Calls – warranty work and repairs.
* Always maintaining a professional and helpful manner towards customers.
* On-Site problem solving, including pre-start site assessment and 'Check Measures' (when required).
* Work sites will primarily be within the Coffs Harbour LGA; however, you will also be required on occasion to travel to Grafton, Yamba, Dorrigo, Port Macquarie & other areas (working away from home allowance applies).
* Adaptability: Willingness to learn and perform a variety of tasks as needed in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
* Ability to measure and calculate.
* Heavy lifting, manual handling & operation of power tools.
Key Responsibilities - Factory Production Workers:
* Assisting our manufacturing team, including assembling security doors and screens.
* Following fabrication guides to produce Crimsafe & Diamond Grille products
* Using a variety of machinery and manual processes to assemble products efficiently
* Understanding and using machinery to cut materials to specified measurements
* General factory duties, including cleaning workspaces to maintain a safe efficient working environment
* Lifting, drilling, using ladders and working outdoors as required
* Good hand-eye coordination
* Efficiently updating & completing paperwork
* Ability to work overtime where required
* Someone who can work independently and as part of a team
* Adaptability: Willingness to learn and perform a variety of tasks as needed in a dynamic manufacturing environment
Requirements
* General Construction Induction Certification (White Card) necessary
* Current Driver's Licence (for Installers)
* Excellent communication & customer service skills
* Attention to detail
* Technical problem-solving skills
* Motivated, reliable individual
* Must be able to work in a team environment as well as autonomously
* Trade Assistant or similar experience advantageous
* NSW Security Licence for the installation of security screens & doors would be favourable
* Current National Police Check desirable, or willingness to obtain one.
* Prior manufacturing industry experience in blinds, awnings, shutters, security screens or curtains would be advantageous, however we will train the right candidate
* Understanding and commitment to safety in the workplace
* Physical stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift heavy objects up to a specified weight, adhering to safety guidelines.
* Available to work full-time, Monday-Friday

The positions on offer are permanent full-time positions with a 6-month probationary period, ready for an immediate start.
