About the role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer – NPD to join our Global Quality team.
In this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring that new product developments meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and customer satisfaction.
You'll be responsible for maintaining and implementing Breville's Global Product Quality System, delivering quality-related requirements throughout the NPD process, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
This is a highly collaborative role where you'll work closely with NPD teams, suppliers, global technical teams, and manufacturing partners to uphold our reputation for excellence.
Key responsibilities
Conducting quality and serviceability reviews on product designs during NPD, including performance, cosmetic finish, and warranty impact.
Establishing and maintaining QC specifications, life testing criteria, and technical specifications for new and existing products.
Reviewing production samples and generating timely reports in line with QC requirements.
Leading investigations into quality issues, including product modifications, warranty concerns, and field failures.
Liaising with suppliers, global teams, and local BU technical teams to resolve quality issues, implement improvements, and monitor supplier quality performance.
Maintaining quality records, QC specs, and compliance documentation to ensure alignment with regulatory and internal requirements.
Providing training to QC inspectors and ensuring consistency across global teams.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and participating in product release meetings.
Traveling internationally as required to oversee quality processes and supplier engagement.

A strong engineering background with both electrical and mechanical knowledge.
Proven project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders across multiple regions.
Proficiency in compiling and presenting technical information (MS Office skills essential).
A proactive, organised, and detail-oriented approach, with the perseverance to follow through on issues until resolved.
A team-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced global environment.
