Our Client, a prestigious hotel and hospitality group, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Event Sales & Planning Manager to join their dynamic team. As the Event Sales & Planning Manager, you will play a crucial role in supervising the Event Sales & Planning Department and ensuring the successful execution of all catering and convention events. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to contribute to the growth and profitability of a renowned hotel chain.
**The role**:
- Handle customer inquiries and provide exceptional customer service for events ranging from 250 to 700 delegates.
- Convert catering-only inquiries into confirmed catering events through effective call control and upselling techniques.
- Manage the day-to-day administration of events, including timely proposal generation, preparation of Banquet Event Orders, and final accounts.
- Develop future and repeat business to maximize the hotel's profitability.
- Coordinate all aspects of the department's operation, exceeding guest expectations and adhering to standards and procedures.
- Attend relevant meetings, including Event Sales & Planning and interdepartmental meetings.
- Maintain accurate administration records in the hotel system, including accounts, sales activity, and event revenue.
- Ensure up-to-date contract and deposit schedules, as well as revenue forecasting in line with department budget objectives.
- Previous experience in event sales and planning, preferably in a high-volume hotel or hospitality environment.
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and achieving sales targets.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
- Proficiency in using hotel management systems and software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with different departments.
- On rare occasions, weekend and after hours work may be needed flexibility to accommodate this on these occasions is required.
