SkillQuest Solutions are seeking a dedicated and skilled Land Economist on behalf of our client who runs a leading advisory firm providing strategic insights and tailored guidance to large institutional investors across superannuation, public sector, charity, insurance and higher education sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex land, development and infrastructure projects across government and private sectors.
Position – Land Economist
Location – Melbourne, Victoria
Salary - $80,000 - $100,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and skilled Land Economist to provide expert economic analysis and strategic advice relating to land development, property markets, infrastructure investment and policy impacts. The role involves supporting major projects through evidence-based analysis, modelling and stakeholder engagement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Provide expert and timely investment advisory support on land and property financing and valuation, including conducting analytical work and report drafting.
· Conducting research and offering guidance on the management and usage of land and property.
· Designing and executing proposals for the sale and leasing of commercial land and property.
· Offering asset management solutions for the administration and utilization of land and property.
· Evaluating land and property investment opportunities.
· Conducting property assessments, selecting appropriate valuation methods, and preparing detailed reports.
· Providing expert advice and evidence on valuation matters in legal or arbitration proceedings.
· Providing strong support to the Research Team Leader and senior team members by helping develop ideas and completing assigned projects.
· Actively participating in the manager research process, including reviews, ratings, and preparing due diligence documents like annual reviews and manager assessments.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
· Relevant qualification, such as a bachelor's degree in design, land economics, property economics or a highly related discipline (or agreed equivalent).
· Proven experience as a Land Economist of at least 3 years (preferably more) in a land, property, infrastructure or public sector advisory environment.
· Ability to prepare clear, concise, and persuasive reports and briefs.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and stakeholders.
· Advanced analytical skills, including experience in predictive modelling and forecasting.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a consulting environment.
· You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
