Role
An exciting opportunity exists for you to join the nursing education team (NaMES) within the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in a permanent part time Clinical Nurse Educator position at EFT. You will be responsible for providing clinical and educational support to staff within the 10 bed PICU and across the Monash Health organisation. Some of your specific accountability's will include:
1. Providing contemporary education that promotes best practice standards
2. Working closely with the Nurse Manager to develop educational strategies that best meets the team requirements
3. Developing and creatively delivering engaging content for the PICU Transition to Speciality Practice program
4. Supporting PICU postgraduate certificate students through the delivery of Monash Health specific content and completing assessments and appraisals
5. Clinical support to staff of all proficiency levels, novice to expert
6. Demonstrating and promoting best practice standards
7. Helping to ensure that through a highly skilled and educated workforce our patients receive safe and high-quality care at Monash Health
8. Working collaboratively with the leadership team including the multi-disciplinary team
9. Teaching and facilitation of post graduate level programs

Our PICU is one of only two tertiary paediatric intensive care units in Victoria and is staffed by highly trained doctors and nurses who specialise in intensive care to ensure the best possible outcomes for all children admitted.
About You
We are looking for a senior, highly skilled nursing clinician with well-developed engagement, communication and collaboration skills. You have post graduate qualifications in Paediatric Critical Care, and/or Education, extensive experience in a tertiary paediatric critical care environment and experience in supporting learners and in particular, you can demonstrate:
10. Commitment to quality clinical care and sound clinical skills
11. An ability to create and deliver innovative clinical education to engage the contemporary learner
12. Proven leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team
13. Ability to show initiative and work independently when required
14. Ability to demonstrate a sound understanding of Critical Care Nursing
15. A well-developed understanding of different teaching and learning styles
16. A warm and engaging personality
In addition, the following attributes will be highly regarded:
17. Completion of, or working towards postgraduate qualifications in education/leadership
