**About the Role**:
Our client manufacturers specialised products for the building and construction industry. Having been in operation for many years, they are known for their unique quality and design, which have been utilised by their clients throughout Australia and the world.
A newly created position has now become available for a "hands-on" commercially savvy General Manager, who is able to use their strong leadership and management skills, to drive the business operations and lead them through their next growth phase. You will be responsible for looking at production planning, new products, sales forecasting and future expansion opportunities. Previous management experience within production, manufacturing, building materials or a related sector is highly desirable.

**Duties**:
- Business planning and development
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Identify new markets and products to increase sales and profits
- Financial management, and achievement of budget and targets
- Build, foster and coach the team to create a high performance culture
- Manage resource allocation to ensure optimal customer service levels and utilisation
- Production planning, ensuring efficient and timely production processes are maintained and mínimal wastage
- Ensure quality service standards are maintained to Company and customer requirements
- Ensure adherence to OH&S standards
**Skills and Experience**:
- Strong track record of business growth both new and existing
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior leadership position within manufacturing, building or related industries
- Excellent people management and leadership experience
- Well organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and priorities
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to meet company targets
- Strategic forward thinker with superior interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications desirable, but not essential
- MUST have full Australian working rights
