Principal Systems Engineer
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self‐motivated Principal Systems Integration Engineer who thrives in a fast‐paced environment. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.
Salary: AUD 100,000 – 130,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the development and delivery of a continuous integration test environment maximizing test coverage.
* Direct the development and execution of test cases for software component and subsystem testing to verify and validate Subsystem Architecture, Subsystem Requirements, Interfaces, and Operational Scenarios.
* Identify and manage the development and improvement of integration activities, improving test coverage through automated testing.
* Manage the test activities as per the process, maintain, and update technical documentation.
* Manage the team to deliver best practice definition of observations and defects in the defect management tool.
* Drive the team to manage issues through to completion, taking ownership of the objectives.
* Deliver the integrated plan and ensure the integration activities are implemented by strictly monitoring the project activities and indicators.
* Contribute to the maintenance of a list of project issues, ensuring it is discussed and agreed with the Principal Engineer and the Project Manager.
* Support the definition of test and clearance activities supported by the main WP Leaders.

Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer or Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
* Rail Industry Worker card and competencies.
* Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ).
* Knowledge of VMware 6.5 or higher.
* Knowledge of micro‐service architecture, enterprise servers, and associated hardware technology (skills in blade server compute technologies are advantageous).
* Good understanding of networking and firewall principles.
* Strong Windows and/or Linux server systems administration skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Aptitude for automated testing of an integrated system.
* Experience in software development in one of the following languages: C++, Java, Python, or C.
