Task & responsibilities Prepare surfaces for tiling, including cleaning, levelling, and applying adhesives to walls and floors. Measure and cut tiles to fit around obstacles, corners, and edges with precision.
Lay and set tiles on floors and walls in accordance with project plans and design specifications. Apply and finish grout between tiles, ensuring a clean and consistent result. Carry out waterproofing applications prior to tiling in wet areas such as bathrooms and kitchens.
Complete swimming pool tiling and rock wall cladding projects as required. Undertake bathroom and kitchen renovation tiling work to a high standard. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets Dynamic Hobart Tiling's quality standards and client expectations.
Work safely and in compliance with relevant occupational health and safety requirements. Collaborate effectively with team leaders and fellow tradespeople on-site. Communicate professionally with clients and construction partners where required.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working order. Qualification & experience Suitable candidates will need: Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling or equivalent qualification in a relevant field. Applicants who do not hold a formal qualification but can demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in wall and floor tiling are encouraged to apply, as this will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
A current and valid White Card (Construction Induction Card) is required, or the ability to obtain one within 3 months of being offered the position. Experience across a range of tiling disciplines is highly regarded, including waterproofing, swimming pool tiling, bathroom and kitchen renovations, and rock wall cladding. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
A strong understanding of and commitment to workplace health and safety (WHS) standards. Experience working across residential, commercial, or government construction projects will be viewed favourably.
