Role Description:
This is a
full-time Civil Engineer role
based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, with a strong focus on
contract administration, construction supervision, and project delivery
, supported by civil design and coordination responsibilities.
The role will see you actively involved in the delivery phase of civil engineering projects, acting as the key interface between designers, contractors, clients, and authorities. You will be responsible for administering construction contracts, monitoring works on site, responding to RFIs, assessing variations and claims, and ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and contractual requirements.
In addition, the role includes involvement in
general civil design, project coordination, and delivery management
, including reviewing and preparing engineering documentation, assisting with approvals, and supporting the efficient progression of projects from concept through to construction and completion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contract administration for civil infrastructure works, including:
* Assessment of contractor claims, variations, and progress claims
* Preparation of site instructions and contract correspondence
* Responding to RFIs and resolving construction issues
* Construction supervision and monitoring to ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and standards
* Regular site inspections, reporting, and liaison with contractors and clients
* Coordination of civil design documentation, including stormwater, earthworks, roads, and services
* General project management support, including programming, coordination, and delivery tracking
* Liaison with councils, authorities, and stakeholders to support approvals and compliance
* Supporting senior engineers in delivering high-quality, practical, and buildable outcomes
Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
* Experience in
contract administration and/or construction supervision
within a civil engineering or infrastructure environment
* Solid understanding of civil infrastructure construction, including roads, drainage, earthworks, and services
* Experience with civil design and documentation, particularly subdivision works
* Knowledge of Queensland standards, council requirements, and construction practices
* Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with contractors, clients, and authorities
* Well-developed problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* RPEQ registration is advantageous but not essential
