Senior Analyst, Business Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, Health and Social Policy Branch

* Full Time, Temporary role (up to July 2026, with possibility of extension)
* 35 hour working week, in a hybrid working environment
* Crown Clerk grade 9/10

About this role

You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.

Be part of a high-performing team providing strategic advice and delivering evaluation, program monitoring and data management and analytics that supports NSW Health to make decisions about policies and programs within the Health and Social Policy portfolio.

Crown Clerk 9/10, starting salary from $129,464 – $142,665 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.

Senior Analyst Data Monitoring and Evaluation team.

* Develop and manage state-wide data collections for programmes in health and social policy portfolios, including development of data governance policies and processes.
* Provide advice about effective data capture, management and governance.
* Provide various project management, secretariat and administrative support, including preparation of briefs, maintaining project documentation, and facilitating exchange of information with stakeholders.
* Collaborate with stakeholders (including Local Health Districts and non-government organisations) to support accurate and consistent data and to promote a culture of reporting and accountability.
* Support monitoring and evaluation of relevant programmes and services, including the development and refinement of monitoring systems and the translation of insights into practice.
* Extract, analyse, and communicate data (using tools like SQL, PowerBI or other statistical packages) to support programme planning, monitoring and improvement, and liaise with key groups to ensure NSW Health information and communications technology meet the needs of health and social policy portfolios.
* Maintain accurate knowledge of data and reporting frameworks and provide high-level advice to the NSW Ministry of Health, the Minister and other parts of Government on the monitoring and reporting of issues associated with health and social policy portfolios.
* Build internal capability and promote a culture of data- and evidence-informed decision making within the health and social policy branch.


About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:

* Demonstrated relevant, professional experience in the area of health and social policy data evaluation and programme monitoring and/or relevant tertiary qualifications.
* Substantial experience in project management and developing, analysing and evaluating policy.
* Excellent analytical skills including proven experience in analysing and interpreting complex information, preparing and presenting analysis and reports and dealing with challenges creatively.
* Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders to deliver on complex policy and programme/project areas.
